Few brands boast as many classic old-school looks as Nike does. While the Swoosh doesn’t hesitate to experiment with bold new ideas such as its upcoming Air Max Scorpion, it continues to dive into the archives to bring back gems. This time around, the Japanese-inspired “Shima Shima” pack is revisited with a re-release of the Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima.” Originally launching in 2003, this pack featured colorways of the Air Trainer 1, Air Max 1 and Dunk High. However, these pairs were tough to find as they only dropped in Canada and Asia. This particular colorway from the “Shima Shima” pack utilizes shades of brown throughout to create a tonal look. Its upper features the classic midfoot strap alongside an all-suede construction that stays true to its original form. Thematic detailing is found at the tongue and sockliner while a pinstripe pattern lands on the trim to complete the look.Nike and select retailers are expected to offer this pair at a price of $125 USD. While a release date has not yet been announced, keep an eye out for the Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima” to hit shelves later this year, possibly alongside matching Air Max 1 and Dunk High colorways.Elsewhere from the Swoosh, 2004’s Air Max 1 “Crepe Hemp” colorway looks to be receiving a re-release.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
