Nike Air Max 90 “Legacy” Provides Potent Patchwork Style

As Nike’s push towards sustainability becomes more broad in scope, the brand has seized the opportunity to remix some of its most beloved silhouettes with environmentally conscious builds. The latest pair to receive a sustainable makeover? Nike Sportswear’s seminal Air Max 90, which has appeared in a “Legacy” colorway made almost entirely of excess materials. Also known as the “Scrap,” this women’s-sized Air Max 90 offers a playful patchwork upper that mixes everything from earthy shades of brown and gray to elegant navy and vibrant red. It’s not just the asymmetrical colorblocking and boisterous mix of hues on display either. Closer inspection reveals that there’s a plethora of materials to be seen here as well, highlights of which include — but are not limited to — detachable suede heel tabs, corduroy mudguard pieces, shorthair suede tongues and gridded synthetic Swooshes. Collars add further to the cobbled-together ethos with a rough-hewn, unsealed edge build that’s somewhat reminiscent of Virgil Abloh’s Off-White™ x Nike Air Max 90s, and simple white midsoles with a gray Air Max unit sit atop recycled rubber outsoles to round off the look. The Nike Air Max 90 “Legacy” is set to release via Nike SNKRS GB on June 10, and is priced at £125 GBP (approximately $177 USD).For more Air Max news, check out the Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 “Cactus Jack.”Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
