Since the Nike catalog is replete with a plethora of classic colorways, it’s not uncommon to see the brand’s designers use them as muses to inspire its newer offerings. This is exactly the case for the Nike Air Max 90 “Icons” which overtly draws inspiration from the Air Max 97 “Silver Bullet.”Official imagery of the pair has been revealed by the Swoosh, so we’re able to capture all of its throwback details. In a similar fashion to the 97s, this makeup is suited up with “Metallic Silver” overlays and “University Red” accents, the latter of which drops off on the Swooshes, Nike branding on the tongues and heels as well as the outsoles. Notes of solid black also show face here and spill onto the interior liners, mid-foot windows, eyelets and rear molds. If you peek inside the shoes, you’ll notice that the insole branding has been reworked with Nike “Icons” branding to reflect its retro-inspired moniker. At the time of writing, there isn’t any info related to when these will be hitting the shelves, but you can expect Nike and other retailers to likely release them in the coming months for $130 USD.Looking for other news?
