It goes without saying that NIGO’s appointment as KENZO’s Creative Director has brought the brand back into the spotlight, and while much of the garments edge into the realm of streetwear, it seems that for Fall/Winter 2022 things are about to get formal. As seen in the FW22 lookbook, KENZO has been busy working on two pairs of signature KENZOSMILE footwear, notably a pair of derbies and a lace-up boot in “Black” and “Moroccan Brown.”For both silhouettes, KENZO adopts military tropes through its use of leather and metal. The former material has been used consistently throughout the construction of the upper, fitting both pairs with a round toe, a slowly sloping vamp with a rope lace-accented tongue, and very little else in the way of distraction.KENZO branding works the collar on the lace-up boot, while both are given a grungey touch with their exposed metal, KENZO PARIS-engraved nameplates peaking out at the toe.Take a look at the KENZO derby and boot above, and purchase them now from KENZO’s website where they retail for $840 USD and $980 USD, respectively.Elsewhere in the footwear world, Hebru Brantley has teamed up with adidas Originals to rework the Forum.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
