NEIGHBORHOOD and adidas are no strangers to collaborative projects, and in 2021 alone, the two parties converged for various footwear collaborations atop the Superstar 80s and the Campus. And to ring in the new year with a bang, the streetwear label is once again aligning with the Three Stripes for an adidas NMD_R1 makeup that is smothered in paisley patterns. The kicks were revealed by the Japanese brand’s founder and CEO Shinzuke Takizawa via detailed in-hand shots. Black is the stand out color for these collaborative sneakers as it covers the knitted base, suede-infused toe caps, mid-foot stripes and heel overlays, and the interior linings. The beauty is in the details here as various patterns do the talking. White and intricate paisley graphics adorn most of the upper half while polka dots outfit the shoe laces.Midsole pieces are presented with various forms of striking details as well including the “NEIGHBORHOOD” spell out on the forefoot’s block and the BOOST cushioning that comes pre-yellowed from the toes to the mid-foot while the heels are drenched in all black. You can check out a closer look here above, and note that a January 2 release date has been confirmed by Takizawa. In other sneaker news, Pharrell Williams and adidas Originals unveiled its premium basics winter collection.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
