Maison Margiela and Reebok Unveil the Classic Leather Tabi Décortiqué Low for SS22

Much success has been seen when luxury fashion houses and sportswear imprints band together for collaborative footwear projects, and after Prada and adidas started the year off with its Forum Re-Nylon release, Reebok is now taking its turn to chime in on the action. To close out the month of January, Reebok is reuniting with Maison Margiela to deliver its all-new Classic Leather Tabi Décortiqué Low silhouette. This new model is essentially a low-cut variation of the Classic Leather Tabi High that made its debut in June 2021.It’s on this new offering that the iconic French fashion label puts its own flavor on a staple Reebok model through the lens of its décortiqué technique. Margiela’s creative director John Galliano reimagines the Classic Leather by deconstructing it and essentially creating see-through windows across the uppers in sections such as the forefoot, quarter panels and heels to create a cage-like aesthetic. This style method shines a spotlight on the silhouette’s architectural framework and nods to the luxury company’s anonymity of the lining, or in its words, “the practice of exposing and elevating the humble insides of a garment or accessory traditionally covered up.”The new trainer will dropping on January 28 via Maison Margiela and Reebok. Three leather colorways in “White,” “Black” and “Red” will retail for $595 USD while the “Bianchetto” makeup will cost $650 USD.Elsewhere in sneakers, size? and Reebok have connected for “Black Pack” footwear capsule.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
