Bungee Oblečení, a Black-owned luxury footwear and apparel brand based in Philadelphia, will launch its partnership with Foot Locker on Nov. 6, 2021. Bungee sneakers will be available for purchase at select Foot Locker stores and via Foot Locker’s online platforms.
“I am honored to be selling my shoes at the biggest sneaker retailer in the U.S.,” states Darrell Alston, CEO and lead designer at Bungee. “Not too long ago, I was sketching designs in a shared, 50 square-foot cell as an inmate at Graterford Prison and now, I am literally living my dream. I am grateful and incredibly excited.”
To mark this milestone and thank his family, friends and customers, Alston will host a series of launch events at Foot Locker stores, including one Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Foot Locker store in the King of Prussia Mall.
Alston conceptualized Bungee Oblečení in 2007, sketching and brainstorming the sneaker line while he was incarcerated. When he was released, Alston continued pursuing his passion and designing sneakers, eventually saving enough money working as a barber to have a sample shoe made. Today, Alston continues to design and release high-end sneakers, which are priced starting at $170. Alston is also passionate about speaking to groups of young people in the community to encourage them to stay focused and pursue their own dreams.
