2021 is a year of fruition for KidSuper and its founder Colm Dillane: the brand was named a finalist for the coveted LVMH prize in April, and now it’s set to release the latest pieces from its long-running collaboration with PUMA. Centered around a fresh take on the timeless Suede plus a new silhouette dubbed the RS-Sandal and also including a full collection of apparel, the offerings nod to the KidSuper team’s relentless pursuit of creative ideas and love of football — or soccer, if you’d prefer — alike.KidSuper’s PUMA Suede features an upper constructed from gray washed (you guessed it) suede, embellished with a foam-trimmed pink Formstrip and blue and yellow suede overlays. Tongues feature a special stash pocket, laces supply a unique tie-dye effect and special text is printed on the insole. Of special note is the “pencil holder” on the midfoot, a clever addition that according to Dillane was meant to “inspire people to write down their ideas.” Sandals are done up in a mixture of cream, purple and green, all atop a design inspired by models from PUMA’s RS line like the RS-X. Each features two straps, connected by a brown cord that runs all the way around the heel, and is embellished with cursive PUMA and KidSuper Studios branding. Finally, the offerings are completed by jackets, tees and shorts. All are done up in bright colors and select items feature Dillane’s signature artwork.
