Jordan Brand expanded its lost of collegiate sponsorships this Summer by welcoming in Howard University to the family. The esteemed HBCU agreed to a 20-year partnership with the sportswear imprint to highlight communities within the institution and create a platform to amplify their voices. And like every Jordan-backed school, it will also be receiving special footwear as the Howard University Air Jordan 6 PE has just surfaced onto our radar. In fitting fashion, the presentation of these kicks follows the palette of the college’s official logo. Leather side panels are done up in a crisp white tone, and come neighbored by muted red and navy accents that are scattered to the tongues, throat, laces and midsole molds. Regal touches can be found on the hang tags and Jumpman-branded lace toggles, both of which are coated with gilded finishes. Special branding that ties back to the Washington D.C. university can be pointed out down the throat which features an “HU” hit as well as the lower heels that sport the school’s crest. These will likely be exclusive to the student-athletes and not launched to the public.Looking for other recent sneaker news?
