Gonz References ’80s Skateboarding Customization With His Latest adidas Aloha Super Collab

Prolific adidas collaborator Mark “Gonz” Gonzales is back with yet another Aloha Super, this time around presenting it in a bold “Shock Pink/Core Black/Frozen Yellow” colorway that’s destined to be stunted this summer.Naturally, Gonz takes inspiration from the brightly-colored past of the 1980’s skating scene, specifically the graphics that skateboarders would apply to their boards to stand out. The result is an Aloha Super that also stands out among Gonz’s previous offerings, which have offered up pairs in a subdued “Halsil/White” colorway and the classic “Karol Winthorp” iteration. Here, the shoe is decked out in premium leather and suede on the upper, sitting alongside a synthetic material that adds the “Shock Pink” and “Frozen Yellow” details to the shoe. A bold blue mesh tongue is graced with the classic “Shmoo” graphic, while the heel component is embroidered with the “MG” signature.Elsewhere, adidas adds a Geoflex outsole and a molded Adiprene sock liner that provides support, durability and feel when skateboarding. Additionally, adidas continues its sustainable initiative by ensuring that 20% of the pieces used to make the upper are made with a minimum of 50% recycled content.Take a look at the Gonz x adidas Aloha Super above, and pick up a pair from the CONFIRMED app on May 28 for £85 GBP (approx. $106 USD).In other news, Balenciaga hid their adidas Destroyed Stan Smith on the runway, but fear not, as HYPEBEAST has got a closer look.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
