Fucking Awesome and Vans have reunited after a two year hiatus to create the UltimateWaffle EXP silhouette. Designed in collaboration with Fucking Awesome Entertainment co-owner Anthony Van Engelen, the new silhouette is constructed using the SturdyStitch process.This process allows the upper to be both durable and flexible, as well as increasing its abrasion resistance and breathability. SturdyStitch is a TPU-based thread traditionally used for techincal embroidery, that has been heat-pressed to create a breathable monomesh base. This SturdyStitch upper is then reinforced with multiple layers in high-wear areas.Other technical features include the use of RapidWeld technology to add structure to the midfoot and vamp, as well as a translucent UltimateWaffle outsole construction. This outsole mixed an UltraCush insole with a stabilizing shank, which adds cushioning, durability and support. Lastly, a LuxLiner sock interior is used.Take a look at the technical sneaker in the gallery above. The Fucking Awesome x Vans UltimateWaffle EXP is due to release in a classic black and white colorway on December 9.
