If you’ve paid attention to the evolution of Jordan Brand and its retro category, then you’ve noticed that it has a cyclical nature to it. Its expansive array of classic colorways is released over and over again to satisfy the older sneakerheads and introduce classics to newer ones. In 2023, we can expect to see MJ’s imprint bring back some gems, one being the Air Jordan 1 High “Lucky Green” that was originally launched in 2009 as part of a “DMP” Pack. The color palette on this reissue is a nod to the Boston Celtics — one of Jordan and the Bulls’ rivals in the Jordan Brand ’90s. Its titular shade reflects the Eastern Conference squad’s main tone and comes pronounced atop the flaps, laces and lower heel overlays. The popularized “Black Toe” color blocking that features solid black Swooshes, and overlays set against angelic quarters and toe boxes is also implemented. The main difference with this forthcoming installment is that the tongue branding has been modified. Instead of Jumpman logos, the tongues are embellished with the more favored Nike Air branding.Right now, these have their eyes set to drop in the Spring on April 15, 2023, but Nike hasn’t confirmed this date just yet.
