Throughout cinema history, there have been plenty of iconic sneaker moments showing up in movies.
Consider Forrest Gump‘s namesake unboxing a brand-new pair of Nike Cortez OGs, or Brendan Fraser’s character in George of the Jungle doing the same with a fresh pair of black-and-white Nike Air More Uptempo before tearing off into the jungle.
In Like Mike, a pair of Nike Blazers played a central focus — Bow Wow’s character found a beat-up pair that magically transformed him into a Jordan-caliber hooper — and we all know Back to the Future, Part II boasts the futuristic Nike Air MAG designed by one Tinker Hatfield.
One model that emerged from a Hollywood flick that’s stood the test of time is the Air Jordan 11 Retro ‘Space Jam,’ which first appeared in Space Jam in 1996. The special colorway debuted on Michael Jordan’s feet as he defeated the Monstars in an intergalactic basketball game for the ages.
It’s been re-released a couple times in retro form since then and remains a pair heavily coveted by sneakerheads.
Now, 25 years on, Space Jam is back with a new look, and so are a couple pairs of movie tie-in sneakers on classic silhouettes from none other than Crocs.
One pair features the bright concentric circles of the iconic Looney Tunes logo, while the other dazzles with a futuristic purple-to-blue gradient colorway emblazoned with graphics that’ll remind you of The Matrix.
