Converse’s Chuck 70 Hi “Sunflower Trek” Looks Like It Stepped Into a Painter’s Palette

Converse’s Chuck 70 Hi has been through too many transformations to name, but it’s always the classics (or the lightly reworked ones) that remain stalwarts in our collection — and this “Sunflower Trek” version is no exception from this case.”Sunflower” yellow canvas makes up the upper, intersecting its body with the iconic white-and-black leather Converse All Star roundel on the medial-side collar, contrasting white stitching, and white laces. As expected, a traditional layout of silver-toned eyelets runs up the eyestay placket, while a white toe bumper is contrasted with a black running stripe, a black license plate, and a white midsole unit. However, this is where the expected ends, and a welcomed touch of the unexpected can be found. Extending from the midsole is a new trek outsole, covered in a marbled, multicolored design comprising hints of blueish-gray, white, red, yellow, and black. The marbled finish gives off a camouflaged look, but when you flip the shoe onto its sole profile you can see it’s much more of an artistic finish, looking as if you’ve stepped into paint.Rugged micro-toothed caps are found at the toe and heel of the outsole, while the middle section is deeply ridged and toothed to give the Chuck 70 Hi height and structure.Converse’s Chuck 70 Hi “Sunflower Trek” retails for €140 EUR (approx. $167 USD) and can be purchased from Sivasdescalzo now.In case you missed it, check out Anna Bediones’ take on Sole Mates, in which she spotlighted the AJ11 “Space Jam.”Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
