Come Tees, a Los Angeles-based label founded by painter Sonya Sombreuil, has reconnected with Converse to prepare a star-laden collection of footwear and apparel. Previously, the duo outfitted apparel and the Chuck 70 with digitized versions of hand-drawn graphics. Again, the iconic Chuck 70 is used in the pairing’s newest collection, alongside the One Star and complementary apparel.Kicking things off, the Come Tees x Converse Chuck 70 “Star Path” features a bright orange upper that pulls inspiration from Sombreuil’s misfit teendom. Metal dome studs hit the lateral, holding down a stitched patent leather patch in an abstract shape. The heel reads “COME TEES” on the left shoe and “STAR PATH” on the right while handwritten “STAR” text is visible on the medial. As for the One Star “A Burning Star,” a shaggy dark gray upper is accented by orange branding elements, silver metal dome studs and orange again on the outsole’s graphic and “STAR” heel text. Pivoting to the apparel side of things, a cosmic airbrush all-over print lands on a Fleece Crew, wide leg Fleece Pant, Overalls and T-Shirt.Release for the latest collection from Come Tees and Converse began last week at a pop-up hosted at Canter’s Deli in Los Angeles. However, leftovers from the event are now available in limited quantities via Come Tees’ website with a launch via SNKRS set for October 20. Pricing for the collection is at $105 USD for the One Stars, $115 USD for the Chuck 70s and ranges between $60 USD to $140 USD for the apparel.
