Collegium’s Pillar Destroyer High Gets Reversed “Stormtrooper” Makeover

Nick Sisombath’s emerging Los Angeles-based sneaker label Collegium follows up from its distressed pack with a “Stormtrooper” take on its Pillar Destroyer High. While May 4th has passed, this reversed “Nero/Bianco” colorway (as opposed to the brand’s previous pair) is by no means just a gimmicky Star Wars sneaker. Instead, it adopts a go-to palette for any sneakerhead to add this silhouette right into their rotation, as the simple black and white make-up allows you to wear this high-top with anything imaginable. As with all of Collegium’s releases, there’s much more to this pair than just a clean colorway. It’s crafted from premium, genuine Italian calf leather and is complemented by a yellowed Margom natural rubber midsole and outsole, which is all stitched together by hand in Italy for a genuinely high level of luxury. The luxe elements are continued with waxed Italian cotton laces and a pair of removable hybrid leather and thick polyurethane insoles, and as expected from Collegium, various sets of laces will come in the box alongside the dust bags.Unlike most luxury sneakers, these ones don’t command a bank-breaking price point. The Collegium Pillar Destroyer High in its “Stormtrooper” colorway is set to drop on Saturday 8th May at 10 a.m. PST on the ourcollegium.com website, costing just $250 USD. Take a closer look at the pair above.
