Clarks Opens First U.S. Cloudsteppers Concept Store

Clarks is parlaying the success of its Cloudsteppers line into a first-of-its-kind U.S. concept store. Opened Dec. 12 at La Palmera Mall in Corpus Christi, TX, the store features not just footwear, but apparel and accessories. T-shirts, hoodies, socks, and other product feature the lightweight, “walk-on-air” comfort that has made Cloudsteppers a success in the U.S. and abroad.
“The opening of our first Cloudsteppers store in the U.S. marks an important milestone in Clarks’ ongoing evolution,” says Peter Quirke, vice president of Americas Retail for Clarks. (The brand opened two Cloudsteppers concept stores in Malaysia in November.)  “As we celebrate our 200-year legacy, we’re proud to continue innovating and building upon what we’re best known for—comfort and quality.”
The store is a natural evolution for a footwear brand expanding to become a standalone lifestyle brand, in Quirke’s opinion. Having a brick-and-mortar store lets Clarks “bring the Cloudsteppers ethos to life in a deeper, more immersive way while setting the foundation for long-term growth,” as he puts it.
“Cloudsteppers has experienced strong momentum in the U.S. for years, particularly with the continued success of the Breeze Sea, which is America’s number swo flip-flop and has sold more than 25 million pairs globally,” Quirke says. “With that level of loyalty and recognition, the timing felt right to build upon the success and expand further by giving Cloudsteppers its own dedicated stage. The standalone concept allows the brand to express itself more fully and connect with consumers in new ways [with] distinct storytelling, category expansion, and elevated brand engagement.”
Even the architecture and interior design evoke the Cloudsteppers aesthetic. “The store is intentionally designed to be light, colorful, and uplifting, reflecting the bright and energetic identity of Cloudsteppers,” Quirke says. “The layout is spacious and welcoming, with bold signage that clearly communicates the collection’s comfort features and value-led price points. It’s a space built around ease, movement, and comfort, inviting consumers to explore ultra-light sneakers, comfy sandals, and everyday apparel and accessories.”
Why Corpus Christi? “When selecting the home for our first U.S. store, we looked beyond weather. We wanted a location whose lifestyle truly reflects the spirit of the brand. Corpus Christi offers exactly that—a vibrant beach community paired with a premier retail destination,” Quirke says. “La Palmera, in particular, provides a best-in-class shopping environment, and we’re incredibly excited to be part of it.”
While Cloudsteppers will continue to be sold through Clarks’ existing channels and retail partners, plans call to open additional concept stores in Florida and North Carolina in the first half of 2026, with additional locations to be announced. “We will continue focusing on dynamic warm-weather locations across the U.S.—places with strong community ties where the Cloudsteppers consumer naturally lives, shops and spends leisure time,” Quirke says.
Earlier this month Cloudsteppers added men’s clothing and accessories, with a footwear line for men to be introduced in January 2026. Expect more additions to the apparel collection in the coming months, including athleisure essentials like leggings and windbreakers.
