Thorogood is living up to its name, doing a thoroughly good deed by donating 50 pairs of its Genesis work boots to survivors of the Eaton Fire in Los Angeles County and to volunteers helping with recovery efforts. The brand is coordinating on the donation with the nonprofit disaster relief organization Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW).
“Thorogood has always believed in stepping up when communities are in need,” says Anna Kapla, marketing operations coordinator for the work boot brand, part of the Weinbrenner Shoe Company. “When the devastating Eton Fire in January left many families displaced and first responders working around the clock, we felt a strong responsibility to act quickly. Partnering with Reach Out Worldwide allowed us to provide support where it was needed most.
“As an employee-owned company with deep Midwestern roots, we are guided by the values of service and solidarity,” Kapla continues. “This donation reflects both the urgency of the disaster and rebuilding efforts, and our commitment to helping people in a time of need.”
