BEAMS connects with New Balance for a re-release of its bespoke M2002R which first released in 2020. The classic silhouette arrived in select BEAMS stores for the GORE-TEX featured “Charcoal” shoe and is now making its way back to stores.The shoe was originally released in 2010 as the flagship model for New Balance’s “MADE in USA” collection. After it was discontinued for a few years, OG fans were able to bring it back after it was highly requested. With its release in 2020, the shoe featured the original upper design, as well las a high-spec sole unit that was similar to the M860v2. Focusing on comfort and fit, the 2002R was revived for Asia and sold out immediately. The BEAMS model is constructed with breathable and waterproof GORE-TEX material. The upper combines a mixture of materials including nubuck and mesh, all dressed in a charcoal grey color scheme. The “N” logo is featured in navy, as is the tongue tag and heel which also sees BEAMS titular orange branding.The New Balance M2002R GTX “Charcoal” is re-releasing on February 4 at select BEAMS retailers and online for approximately $253 USD.
