Zalando Cooks Up a Piping Hot Launch for New Balance ABZORB

Zalando is expanding its footwear library with the arrival of the New Balance ABZORB collection. To mark its launch, the retailer serves up a new campaign spotlighting the ABZORB 2000 and 2010 models. Known for its assortment of activations that turn playful concepts into inspiring style, Zalando centers the launch around the humble food truck. Drawing a parallel between the appetites of sneakerheads and foodies, the supporting campaign finds the silhouettes on an alternative menu as individuals queue up to get their hands on a pair. Not forgetting to incorporate a series of fresh fits, the visuals also feature a curation of New Balance garments. Complementing the deep “Violet Crush” heel of the ABZORB 2010 is a soft purple sweatshirt and gingham shorts, while the citrus tones of the New Balance ABZORB 2000 “Limelight” are made the main focus with a pared-back long-sleeved jersey and denim shorts. Continuing to celebrate the launch, Zalando brought the concept to life at an event in its home city of Berlin. At the Haus der Visionäre venue, attendees were able to experience the New Balance ABZORB 2000 and 2010 in a quirky food truck setting with a headline set by DJ Temry. You can now shop the New Balance ABZORB collection at Zalando, with prices starting at €170 EUR (approx. $200 USD).

HOKA Joins Forces With Seoul-Based XLIM To Launch the New Mafate Speed 2

HOKA has launched a major collaboration with XLIM, a pioneering Korean brand that blends fashion, architecture, and art aesthetics. This collaboration uses the classic Mafate Speed 2 trail running shoe as its base, perfectly fusing top-tier outdoor functionality with a unique street perspective. The design draws inspiration from the evolution of materials over time in nature, exploring the subtle tension between organic elements and man-made structures. Through rich material textures and meticulously crafted color palettes, XLIM seamlessly infuses its signature experimental aesthetic into HOKA’s performance-driven design foundation, creating a new silhouette full of layers and postmodern visual tension. This collaboration is not merely a reinvention of the shoe design, but a profound reflection on the evolution of high-performance running shoe culture and the collision of cross-disciplinary creativity. Thomas Cykana, Senior Director of Global Collaboration at HOKA, stated that the Mafate Speed 2 combines technological sophistication with practicality, perfectly embodying XLIM’s renowned postmodern aesthetic. The unique texture of the upper, reminiscent of weathered time, pays homage to the power of nature in sculpting the earth. Dohee Kim, founder and creative director of XLIM, also admitted that rather than viewing this project as a traditional collaboration, he prefers to see it as a shared journey of exploration, allowing different perspectives to converge and spark unexpected ideas, giving the entire creative process a deeper meaning. The new HOKA x XLIM Mafate Speed 2 collaboration features several stunning and talked-about colorways. The deeply textured “Black Charcoal” was first released exclusively in the Asia-Pacific region on April 24; while the “Grey Foam” and “Peach Dust” colorways will be officially released globally on May 15, available in limited quantities in-store, online and at select retailers worldwide. Nike Drops the Air Max 95 Big Bubble in Classic “Slate”

Name: Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble “Slate”Colorway: White/Lake Blue-French Blue-Emerald GreenSKU: IH7855-100MSRP: $190 USDRelease Date: Available NowWhere to Buy: NikeNostalgia is in the air for sneakerheads as Nike continues to lean heavily into the roots of its most iconic silhouettes. Following a massive run of 30th-anniversary drops, the Swoosh is showing no signs of slowing down, bringing back a highly sought-after makeup of the Air Max 95. Releasing today, the Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble “Slate” perfectly marries a beloved heritage colorway with true-to-original construction, offering collectors an incredibly authentic retro experience.Aesthetically, the “Slate” colorway delivers exactly what longtime fans of the Air Max 95 want. The sneaker revisits its classic look, anchored by a clean white mesh upper and base. The silhouette’s signature layered side panels execute a flawless blue gradient, starting with light, icy tones near the midsole and transitioning into much deeper shades of French Blue as they approach the eyelets. Subtle hits of teal on the heel Swoosh and tongue branding give the shoe the perfect pop of contrast without disrupting the clean, aquatic theme. However, the real star of this release is the tooling. Setting it apart from standard modern retros, Nike has equipped this pair with its “Big Bubble” treatment. By reintroducing the noticeably larger, more prominent Air unit in the midsole, the brand has successfully replicated the exact specifications of the original 1995 build. It is a meticulous design upgrade that has been driving recent Air Max 95 popularity, resonating deeply with purists who crave original design language.By refining the details that matter most to collectors while delivering a timeless, highly wearable colorway, Nike continues to prove why the Air Max 95 remains a staple in streetwear culture. If you are looking to secure a piece of authentic Air Max history, the “Slate” Big Bubble is a must-cop for the summer rotation.
