adidas’ Made To Be Remade Initiative Adds the NMD S1 in “Core Black”

Often times, you’ll see a brand sprinkle in recycled materials with a shoe’s design, wherever the materials are least noticeable, to then showcase front and center in the marketing. However, with adidas’ Made To Be Remade (MTBR) initiative, the conversation of circular fashion is approached. MTBR footwear is worn with love to later be cleaned and shredded, utilizing the resulting materials in future shoes and thus creating a complete cycle.Bringing the approach to one of adidas Orginals’ newest silhouettes — the NMD S1 — the Three Stripes continues its expansion of the project as they seek to replace all virgin polyester with recycled polyester wherever possible by 2024. In its “Core Black” form, a familiar color composition on the sneaker makes an appearance with a nearly all-black look accented by hits of white throughout. These notably appear at the sole — including its MTBR nod — the heel and minimal adidas Originals logo at the tongue. For those interested in grabbing the adidas Made To Be Remade NMD S1 “Core Black,” it is launching via adidas on February 2 at 10am EST at a price of $220 USD.In other footwear news from the Three Stripes, Palace has revealed its upcoming adidas Samba collaboration as part of its Spring 2023 collection.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
