Celebrate Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary With the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Bronx Origins”

2023 marks the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, prompting artists and brands alike to reflect on the influential genre. For Nike, this has included various looks on what is one of the most popular silhouettes for hip-hop artists over the years — the Air Force 1. Now, following a “Bronx Origins” pair in white that released in celebration of the AF1’s 40th anniversary last year, a black colorway has been revealed. This time around, the “Bronx Origins” treatment is headlined by a special New York City-themed record dubrae that rests atop the laces on each shoe. From there, the item’s black and gold is recreated across the shoe with black leather paneling joined by gold iridescent Swooshes at each side. Gold also pops at the tongue and heel branding while the midfoot and tongue’s base sees a dark gray adorned with a Swoosh pattern. A “Golden Celebration” hit appears at the sockliner while the white sole unit’s translucent outsole is highlighted by “BRONX ORIGINS” text. For those interested in picking up a pair, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Bronx Origins” in black is scheduled to release on August 11 via Nike and select retailers at a starting price of $150 USD.Enjoy a complete look at the pair above and in case you missed it, the Swoosh is looking back to the early ’00s with the official release of Kobe Bryant’s Nike Air Flight Huarache “Lakers Away” PE taking place next month.

The New Balance 1906R, a silhouette that has become popular for a wide variety of inline and collaborative releases is revealed to be dropping in “Grey/Tan” with a canvas-style upper. In recent months, collaborative offerings of the 1906R have seen vibrant color-blocked and gradient takes, like those with Action Bronson and Salehe Bembury. Over recent times, the Mancunian imprint has grown since the release of its Patta-co-signed Stepper creation and later introduced the Stomper boot. However, along with these footwear drops, Clints has continued to find a strong sense of popularity in its TRL sneaker. This latest version of the shoe comes hot on the heels of the “Pinkies” version and comes with a fresh combination of grey and white tones. Overall, the sneaker is designed as a classic trek shoe, with it crafted with a Neoprene upper, while layered paneling is used to integrate enhanced ankle and foot support.Meanwhile, customary Clints branding is added to the heels, branded toe puff, and the sole of the shoe, where reflective 3M details are used to round off the design alongside the removable hangtag. You can take a closer look at the new Clints TRL 2.0 sneaker above and be sure to keep an eye on the brand’s official Instagram page for further release details. In other news, check out the new Nike Ja 1.
