Nike is adding the Zoom Vomero 5 silhouette to its ever-popular “Have A Nike Day” series.The forthcoming iteration arrives with an off-white mesh base that is complemented by leather and suede overlays in tan and orange pastel hues. Matching panel cages lay beneath the yellow pastel swoosh, while additional branding can be found on an orange tag, the tongue tag, insoles and embroidered heel checks. The shoe rests on a pastel Zoom Air midsole and black and pastel outsoles, with aqua-tinged laces tying it together for a neat finish.Check out the sneaker above. The Montreal-based masters of minimalism recently took to their Instagram to give us a first look at their first project with the French sporting company: a characteristically clean take on the XT-Wings 2.Originally released in 2011 as a high-performance trail runner with a chunky midsole (the same version that was used on the original XT-4) and a striking upper, the XT-Wings 2 was slimmed down and made much more subtle when it was reintroduced as a lifestyle silhouette, making it a perfect match for JJJJound’s tasteful tweaks. It’s not unreasonable to think that this release could kick off a run of new XT-Wings 2 releases either: giving a silhouette some extra gas with an A-list collaboration, then following it with several in-line releases is a time-honored sneaker industry marketing maneuver, and Salmon recently employed it with Sandy Liang and the XT-6 Expanse.Currently, no release date or pricing information for the JJJJound x Salomon XT-Wings 2 has been announced. Boston-based retailer Bodega has worked with New Balance for over a decade, constantly digging into its archive for inspiration. Following initial teasers, the duo has revealed its forthcoming 610 collaboration. The Bodega x New Balance 610 “The Trail Less Taken” pays tribute to NYC pigeon handler “Live Action.” The Brooklyn native has cared for birds since childhood, learning about pigeon’s breading and maintenance process. New Balance recently brought the 610 back to life, digging it out of storage after an 11-year hiatus. The colorway takes inspiration from the bird’s natural feather hues, boasting a light blue mesh base with black leather and suede overlay trimmings. Silver “N” branding receives tinted outlines, while fuzzy lace accents bounce onto the tongues in grey. Purple and red loops secure spotted laces into place, accompanied by rubberized tongue branding and colored heel tabs. Grip-ready sole units complete the design with three-way pigments.
