New Balance is continuing to push fresh iterations of its 1906R silhouette and the sleek design is soon to be available in a stealthy “Metallic Black” colorway.Recently, New Balance has been experimenting with its 1906R like never before. Having just teased another collaboration with Teddy Santis’ Aimé Leon Dore, the sneaker has also been adapted with new stow patches and even added to the Protection Pack umbrella with new-and-improved durable details.Now the sneaker is making itself available for everyday wear with a new and versatile color scheme. Featuring a black mesh upper with leather overlays, speckles of “Metallic Silver” are applied to the branded areas on the lateral walls, tongue, and underfoot. Meanwhile, its classic N-Lock system is used to stabilize the lateral sides while a TPU heel counter supplies additional support. However, the label has proven that its eyes are on the future as well. Aside from continuing to present its explosive looks from its Hoops division with LaMelo Ball, PUMA has introduced a new silhouette — the Plexus.Arriving as an intersection of sport and style — leaning on design cues from both past and present — the Plexus was revealed earlier this year as PUMA’s next step forward. Boldly surging ahead, it dips its toes into the world of collaboration with an all-black look curated by Korean designer JUUN.J. Details such as the rope laces that weave through the upper to recreate PUMA’s Formstrip logo appear once again while subtle hits of co-branding are included at the tongue, heel and hardware. The pair comes with its own carabiner that has been attached at the lateral of each shoe as well. Its mixed material build is rounded out by a shell toe finish, completing the contemporary colorway.Priced at €150 EUR (approx. $163 USD), the JUUN.J x PUMA Plexus is scheduled to launch via select retailers such as BSTN on April 7 at 6pm EST.Looking for more footwear news? Through collaborative projects alongside his label Aimé Leon Dore and his creative direction over its Made in USA line, he’s attracted a substantial amount of new consumers and revenue. And this year he’s slated to add even more collaborations to his repertoire like this newly-surfaced Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 1906 team-up in green.A breathable mesh material makes up a majority of the base layer’s build, and this comes prepared in pure white. Sitting adjacent to this comes various shades of green such as a forest-y hue that attaches to the heel cages and toe box overlays while a dusty green tone gets thrown onto the broken lines on the quarter pane’s silver overlays. A subtle-yet-striking touch of gold also appears around the N logos for a regal touch.
