Nike Is Bringing Back the LeBron 4 “Graffiti” for a Wider Release

Back in 2006, Nike and LeBron James hosted a special pop-up activation in SoHo, New York for the release of a limited-edition sneaker: the Nike LeBron 4 “Graffiti.” Only 250 pairs were released to the public, making it one of The King’s most exclusive launches at the time. However, the Swoosh’s basketball team has elected to reissue the kicks at a larger scale during the 2023 holiday season. All of the shoe’s original design cues will be brought back. Its curvy base layer comes split between a duo of curvy panels, the first which resides in the middle of the base and comes styled in all-white while the second lies below and is completely covered in graffiti-inspired graphics Collars of the court-ready kicks are fashioned in black and are designed with angelic Swooshes and “University Red” trim, the latter of which matched up with James’ Cleveland Cavaliers threads at the time.Nike actually revisited the “Graffiti” theme back in 2017 as it engineered multiple LeBron 17 colorways with the same presentation, and this may have been the foreshadowing moment that its muse was eventually going to get brought back to the frontlines. You can likely expect these to launch via Nike and select retailers later in the year for $240 USD.In other news, Yoon Ahn just teased a new AMBUSH x Nike Air Force 1 in white.

Nike SB Is Entering Its Cream and Gray Box Era

One of the nuances of Nike and its Nike SB label that die-hard sneakerheads have paid attention to since its inception in 2002 is its shoe boxes. They’re time capsules for the sub-label because fans can identify the era in which certain colorways and collaborations were released based on the box’s exterior colors and design whether it was pink, silver, black and purple etc. In recent years, Nike SB has been housing its Quickstrike launches in multi-colored striped boxes, but those will soon become obsolete as images of a new cream and gray box have appeared.Understated in every sense, the box is predominantly covered with a cream hue and features various Nike SB branding across the lids and the sides of the base which are doused in gray. Inside, you’ll find the standard issue tissue which features crispy white paper and faint gray woodgrain patterns presented in all-over fashion.Nike SB still has to confirm what launches will come in this fresh design, but there is a chance that it could be used for some of the brand’s anticipated SB Dunk Low collaborations with Jarritos, Born x Raised or Run the Jewels. For more news, a duo of Nike SB Dunk Low colorways have been teased.

Take an On-Feet Look at the Tiffany & Co. x Nike Air Force 1 Low Collab

The Tiffany & Co. x Nike has garnered a lot of attention in the past week with the surprise reveal of its unprecedented collaboration. After the unveiling that saw the brands take out a full-page print ad in The New York Times to feature the co-branded Nike shoe box in the Tiffany blue, featuring both logos and the phrase, “A Legendary Pair,” sneakerheads and fans alike have been in a frenzy online with many sharing mixed reviews. In an op-ed from Business of Fashion, the publication reported that sneakerheads have “largely dismissed the $400 [USD] Nike Air Force 1 Low Tiffany & Co. 1837 shoes, which come in all-black nubuck leather with a Tiffany blue swoosh and silver plate on the back.” The publication also argues that the “partnership failed on multiple levels,” claiming that there “was no authentic synergy between the two brands, no discernable rationale for the collaboration other than two corporate juggernauts wanting to generate marketing buzz.” While that is the case, it is a marketing success, at top of news for the past week.Gearing up for the release of the collaboration, which was first spotted on LeBron James, fans can now get a closer on-feet look at the pair. The coveted shoe is constructed with a black leather and suede base, highlighting the Swoosh in the classic Tiffany & Co. teal color that also colors the insoles. The shoe features detailed silver co-branded plates on the tongue and heel, all sitting atop an all-black Nike Air Force 1 rubber sole. The shoe will also be arriving in a special co-branded packaging.Look out for the release of the Tiffany & Co. x Nike Air Force 1 Low sneaker arriving on March 7 for $400 USD.In case you missed it, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG has surfaced in “Black Cement.”
