The New Balance 550 Gets Treated With “LA Rams” Team Hues

Following the reveal of the “Pine Green” colorway, Boston-based imprint New Balance is preparing to debut several 550 colorways across 2023. Several renditions are already on our watchlist, including the field-ready “LA Rams” edition. The Los Angeles-based NFL team now receives its own team-inspired colorway, featuring a classic white leather base and vibrant accents throughout. The former hue runs through the mudguards, toe boxes, tongues, medials, and heel counters, contrasted by yellow profile “N” logos adorned with navy perimeters. The ankle areas boast yellow mesh underpinnings, while blue leather trimmings sit on top. Staple New Balance branding is printed at the rears alongside further touches that hit the tongues, forefoot sections, and tongues. Pale blue hints land beneath the laces and plastic heel plaques, completing the pair with white midsoles and two-toned rubber outsoles. Take a closer look at the New Balance 550 “LA Rams” in the gallery above. The model is expected to drop via New Balance and select retailers later this year for $110 USD. adidas Originals Unveils Its All-New Torsion Super Silhouette

adidas Originals has just presented its newest silhouette to its footwear roster: the Torsion Super — and it’s now available in two colorways of “White” and “White/Black.”It’s no secret that adidas’ Torsion line has been packed with innovative and unique designs since it was introduced to the adi family. For example, recent designs have come in the form of Torsion TRDC, KC, and more, all of which serving the purpose of being functional everyday shoes, whether that’s as a high or low-top in either vibrant or understated colorways. Now, this all-new Torsion Super sneaker appears to take inspiration from the ZX series with a sleek rubber outsole and technical grid-pattern mesh weaves. The “White” version of the sneaker features splashes of light “Aqua” and pink across its customary Three Stripe branding and heel tab, while it is also crafted with a mix of nubuck and suede overlays. Furthermore, a pink lace jewel displays the classic torsion technology — this can be located under the foot.Additionally, the “Black/White” edition is more of the same, however, shades of black hit the lateral Three Stripe, toe box, and lower heel sections. Rounding things off, speckles of blue are added to the Originals branding on the tongue, and above and below the suede paneling on the lower lateral. You can take a closer look at the new adidas Originals Torsion Super above and it is available with select retailers such as Aphrodite now for £99 (approx. $120 USD).Elsewhere in footwear, take a look at the Nike ACG Mountain Fly 2 “Laser Orange.”

Nike Shows Valentine’s Love with the Dunk Low “Yellow Heart”

Valentine’s Day is for lovers, and Valentine’s Day sneakers usually are too. Most V-Day drops have an air of schoolyard romanticism to them thanks to their ornamentation — think bright pink or red tones and large heart graphics. Nike has shoes that fit that billing dropping this year, but they’ve also served up a much more platonic design: the Dunk Low “Yellow Heart,” or the official sneaker of the friend zone. The “Yellow Heart” is largely devoid of any embellishment, save for (you guessed it) a yellow heart on its lateral heel, raised above the rest of the shoe, trimmed in white and stamped with a small Swoosh. From a construction standpoint, this low-cut Dunk uses white leathers both smooth and tumbled, while finishing details are served by an ever-so-faint yellow Swoosh plus yellow Nike Sportswear graphics on the tongue, heel and insole. Of note is that an early leak of the pair last November showed it with much more glossy patent leather on its overlays. A women’s-sized sneaker that’s likely to drop in an extended size run, the Nike Dunk Low “Yellow Heart” is currently without a release date. However, it’s likely to touch down on or around Valentine’s Day, February 14.For more footwear news be sure to check out the latest installment of Sole Mates, a weekly Hypebeast series that spotlights notable individuals in street culture and the connection they share with their favorite shoes.
