adidas Immortalizes the Homer Simpson Bush Meme With a Special Stan Smith

In recent years, adidas has offered a playful catalog of The Simpsons-themed footwear. Wild creations include a Superstar dedicated to the family’s second cat, Snowball II, a Ned Flanders-inspired take on the McCarten and more. Last week, the next wacky creation from the duo was revealed to be Marge Simpson and her iconic blue hair covering the adidas Superstar. This led to the viral idea of adidas pairing it with a Homer Simpson entering the bushes meme-themed colorway. However, it would seem the Three Stripes was once step ahead of us as a design of this on the Stan Smith has surfaced. Its presentation is simple yet amusing as the Stan Smith arrives in a traditional white, off-white and green color scheme with scattered references to the hit franchise. The white leather upper features gold “Homer Simpson” text at the lateral, a portrait of Homer on the tongue, custom The Simpsons-themed sockliner and a fuzzy heel tab featuring Homer Simpson partially obscured by a bush, referencing the timeless reaction GIF and meme format of him slowly backing into the bushes. For now, little information regarding this entry in the The Simpsons x adidas collection has been shared. Look for it to likely land on shelves in the coming months via adidas and stay tuned for more release details. In other The Simpsons news, a Death Note parody special titled Death Tome is debuting this weekend, featuring Lisa as Light Yagami.

An Iridescent Red Stripe Hits the Nike Air Max 97

It has been a busy year for the Nike Air Max 97. In celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Japanese bullet train-inspired silhouette has taken on a wide variety of looks, including the return of the fan-favorite “Silver Bullet” and “Gold Bullet” colorways set to launch in the coming months. For the latest take on the classic shoe, a mostly black presentation of the Air Max 97 is accented by silver and an iridescent red. Ranging from mesh to leather, the layered upper keeps its simple with a single stripe carrying its shiny red, providing a pop of color to the otherwise monochromatic look. The stripe’s finish is similar to that of Skepta’s Air Max 97 “Sk” from 2017, a fun callback to the Air Max 97’s history. Silver Swooshes and a matching heel tab are accompanied by a matching visible Air unit while black dominates the remainder of the sneaker. The Swoosh has yet to share any release information regarding this Air Max 97 colorway. Look for it to hit shelves in the coming months via Nike and select retailers. In other footwear news, the Nike Air More Uptempo has been outfitted in a “Valentine’s Day”-themed look.

Official Images of the Nike SB Dunk Low “Be True”

This year, Nike’s “Be True” collection included iconic silhouettes such as the Cortez and SB Dunk Low. Now, the Swoosh looks to be utilizing the SB Dunk Low once again for its next “Be True” capsule. Following the reveal of a “Be True” Air Deldon, Nike has shared an official look at its upcoming pride-themed SB Dunk Low.Previously spotted on-foot, this colorful arrangement of the classic SB Dunk Low begins with a unique mesh base. From there, bright yellow leather overlays and laces begin at the toe and expand to the lacing system. Its leather heel counter runs around the sneaker, beginning in lavender at the lateral and transitioning to a salmon pink as it wraps around to the medial. These colors are inverted for the Swooshes of each side, with a pink salmon Swoosh at the lateral and a lavender one at the medial. Various “Be True” notes are featured throughout, including thematic drawings towards the heel, a custom shoe box and sockliner.Originally thought to release during LGBTQIA+ History Month, which takes place during the month of October, the next “Be True” collection does not have a release date set. Traditionally, these collections debut during Pride Month in June. However, it’s possible the Nike SB Dunk Low “Be True” and its accompanying capsule colorways will be available via Nike and select retailers at an earlier date. For more in the busy world of footwear, the Nike SB team has revisited the SB Dunk High for its Orange Label series, this time outfitting it in a “Sweet Beet” colorway.
