The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Bronx Origins” Pays Tribute to The Borough’s Hip-Hop Legacy

This year marks the 40th birthday of the Nike Air Force 1. Its origins began on the basketball court back in 1982 but quickly became a staple in global hip-hop culture. As the celebratory year continues, Nike has prepared several festive releases to honor the iconic silhouette. The latest release to join the line-up is the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Bronx Origins,” which pays tribute to the borough’s musical legacy. Soaked in historical notions, the upper is constructed from tumbled white leather, featuring distinctive black medial Swooshes with a scored finish. Gilded lace dubraes see embossed detailing promoting the years “1973” and “1982,” the latter signifying the model’s debut. Rear pull-tabs don illustrative branding, while tongue tags see “Anniversary Edition” text in sophisticated cursive lettering. Graphic insoles are printed with a spinning “Bronx Origins” vinyl record, completing the design with white midsoles and milky semi-translucent bottoms that allow the same phrase to peek through. The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Bronx Origins” is set to hit shelves on October 14 via Nike and select retailers for $150 USD.Elsewhere in footwear, here’s how to get your hands on HAL STUDIOS®’s ASICS GEL-1130 “FOREST” collaboration.

Snakeskin Swooshes Hit the Nike Air Force 1 Low

40 years of the Air Force 1 continue to be celebrated with collaborations and new colorways. Expanding on this celebration, Nike has now presented a look that features snakeskin Swooshes. For a style as popular as the Air Force 1, it’s no surprise that it has seen its fair share of exotic looks over the years. Snakeskin Air Force 1 releases in recent years include reissues of 2001’s Air Force 1 B “3M Snake” and the 1996 Asia exclusive “Ivory Snake” that this colorway is updating.Favoring a light gray leather upper as opposed to the white one found on the “Ivory Snake” edition, this Air Force 1 Low keeps it simple with a reptilian twist. Both the Swooshes and heel branding feature a snakeskin base, with the heel branding favoring a embroidered Nike Air logo in light gray. The look is complemented by the silhouette’s standard sole unit found in an off-white color.Release for the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Snakeskin” is expected to take place in the coming months via Nike and select retailers in women’s sizing.
