Saucony Bakes Up a Shadow 6000 Colorway Inspired by New York Cheesecake

Saucony never strays too far from the food world when it comes it crafting playful sneakers. In the past, we’ve seen the brand serve up an iteration inspired by avocado toast, an installment that channels the vibe of a pineapple and an offering inspired by a food fight, and now the American sportswear imprint has whipped up a brand new Shadow 6000 installment that’s influenced by the classic New York cheesecake.Ingredients from the sugary dessert are incorporated across the entire upper of the shoes. Its perforated leather build is generated with an off-white exterior, and this comes complemented by rosy pink overlays that are located on the quarter panels and the mudguards. The rear windows, Saucony logos, tongues and laces all come dripped in red to mimic the delectable strawberry glaze topping that is often associated with the post-dinner treat. Additionally, actual strawberry icons are placed onto the tongues which host Saucony branding as well as in all-over fashion across the insoles. Down below, the yellow and brown bottoms are designed to portray graham cracker crust.Parties who are interested in picking up a pair can find these available now via Saucony for $140 USD.In other news, Saucony recently teamed up with TOMBOGO for a new collaboration.

Two More AMBUSH® x Nike Air Force 1 Colorways Appear

AMBUSH® has been on quite a collaborative tear recently, working with Nike on three colorways of the Air Adjust Force, teaming up with Levi’s for a denim collection and linking up with Astro Boy for a small capsule. There’s more on the horizon as well, as Yoon Ahn’s brand and Nike have a set of strikingly Swooshed takes on the Air Force 1 dropping later this year. Three colorways — a “Chicago”-style makeup as well as white/black and black/white pairs — were revealed earlier this month and now we’ve got a look at two more pairs via Instagram sneaker leaker @kicksdong.The fourth and fifth AMBUSH® Air Forces are dressed in royal blue and navy blue, with secondary colors (either yellow or white) gracing their elongated “tailpipe” swooshes, partially-detached heel tabs and custom lace deubres. Other details include a large plastic heel clip and a thinner-than-usual tongue. From a construction standpoint, the AMBUSH® x Nike Air Force 1 uses a supple leather on its top half and standard rubber for its midsole. At the time of writing, no release date has been announced for any of the pairs in the AMBUSH® x Nike Air Force 1 collection. However, they’ll likely touch down before the year is out. Stay tuned for more info as it’s made available.Elsewhere in the world of footwear, a North Carolina woman named Karly Blackburn recently landed an interview at Nike by delivering a custom-designed “resume cake” to the company’s Beaverton, Oregon headquarters — with some help from a determined Instacart driver.

Cactus Plant Flea Market Wants You To Give Their Nike Flea 1 Collab a Haircut

Cactus Plant Flea Market and Nike are no strangers to head-turning designs, but their Flea 1 (an altered take on the Dunk Low) is inarguably their strangest shoe yet. Covered in Grinch-like green fur, the Flea 1 looks like the result of a vigorous tussle between a Dr. Seuss character, a Marni Sabot mule and Nike Sportswear’s beloved Dunk. It’s an abstract art project that’s actually been put into production, and after official images popped up at the tail end of September another key detail has been revealed: namely that you’re supposed to give it a haircut. This instruction is shown on the shoe’s hangtag, revealed in photos from Sole Retriver. “I’ve been growing!” it states enthusiastically. “Please trim excess material on Nike CPFM Flea 1 before wear.” No further info is provided, leaving it up to aspiring sneaker barbers to groom the Flea 1 as they see fit — be it a mullet, bangs or even a high and tight. Also shown in the set of photos are the shoe’s now-familiar details like its mismatched Nike Grind midsoles, heatmap-printed insoles, and standard Dunk outsoles. Hidden in the hair is a yin and yang symbol as well, a truly direct sign of balance within chaos. Two extra sets of laces round off the look. There’s still no word on the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Flea 1’s release date or price. However, we’ll be sure to keep you updated as soon as further info is revealed. While you wait for your chance to give the Flea 1 a trim check out Sole Mates, a weekly series from Hypebeast that spotlights notable individuals in street culture and their favorite sneakers.
