Pat Murray and Peter Sidlaukas’ New York imprint Bronze 56K is a major player in the skateboarding scene, and for its latest collaborative effort it has been enlisted by DC Shoes to bring back one of its most renowned ’90s skate sneakers, the Clocker 2.Like the duo’s 2020 collaboration which saw Bronze 56K rework the DC Shoes Lukoda, this partnership presents the Clocker 2 in its original form, serving nostalgia and authenticity for those who have a soft spot for the skateboarding sneaker. Made to its OG specification, the Clocker 2 re-release comes with no added bulkiness or body reworks, instead opting for collaborative markings that distinguish this retro reissue from the pairs of the ’90s.As a result, we find three outdoors-inspired colorways — one in teal with gray and orange, another in gold with black and teal, and a final pair in royal blue and black — with each sporting dual branding. For example, Bronze 56K’s logo adorns the tongue tag while DC Shoes gets an overt mention on the heel cup, and more of the former’s name can be found printed onto the insoles. The heritage footwear style is known for its durability and class-leading functionality, making the Clocker 2 one of the most indestructible shoes to ever be skated in. This is likely to be the case for Bronze 56K’s effort, as the shoes are of course designed to be skated in — hard.Complementing the release of the shoes is a collaborative pack of socks, a skate backpack and two T-shirts, one of which reads “MY OTHER SHOES: COURT GRAFFIK,” a shoe that has been given a slipper update as part of this release. The Bronze 56K x DC Shoes collaboration is set to drop on August 6 at select retailers globally and on DC Shoes’ website. Take Another Look at the ERL x Dior B9S Skate Shoes
After teasing a series of collaborative footwear silhouettes with Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack, Dior Men’s footwear designer Thibo Denis now reveals a new skate silhouette in collaboration with Eli Russell Linnetz. Pre-emptively dubbed the “ERL x Dior B9S,” the silhouette echoes the chunky retro aesthetic of its B713 sneaker with a thick padded tongue and wide laces.First revealed at Dior’s Spring 2023 “California Couture” show and now surfacing in purple, white, and brown colorways, the upcoming pairs are a clear nod toward the unconventional Osiris D3 skate shoes featuring jagged suede overlays with matrix patterns spread across the padded tongue and rubber mudguard. Dior monogram patterns are found across the fabric base layer and white midsoles while additional “CD” initials are engraved into the metallic eyelets. Rounding out the design are embroidered leather tongues, double-stacked foam heels, and traction outsoles.Look for more information on the ERL x Dior B9S pairs to emerge in the coming weeks.
