Pharrell Williams and adidas have a length history of coming together to create magic. Whether it be the original Hu NMD that took the world by storm or the collaborative Humanrace apparel line, the duo has remained a staple in streetwear. Now, for 2022, the pairing has presented the trail-inspired adidas Hu NMD S1 RYAT. Noting the approach to the shoe’s design, Williams shared “The RYAT is a cultural artifact and an object for humans pushing forward on our planet.”Connecting the past with the future, the Hu NMD S1 RYAT contrasts modern beauty with the history of landscape and the performance specifications it demands. In “Cardboard,” the fresh silhouette’s standard construction of durable materials makes a return. Leather supports the upper while a transparent TPU cage combines with TPU plugs to accent the look. Standard to the NMD line, a full-length boost midsole provides ample cushioning atop a rugged rubber outsole that carries a Trefoil-shaped grip.Release for the adidas Hu NMD S1 RYAT “Cardboard” is set for September 2 at 10am EDT via adidas and select retailers worldwide at a price of $250 USD.
