Tom Sachs has a knack for generating high buzz around his innovations whether it be tied to art, apparel or footwear, especially when it comes to his collaborative projects with Nike. This year, the New York-based creative is reconnecting with the sportswear giant to introduce a brand new silhouette: the NikeCraft “General Purpose Shoe.”Sachs labels this new offering the “ordinary shoe for extraordinary people” as nothing about this sneaker is over the top. “I got involved with Nike in the beginning because we wanted to make a sculpture that everyone could wear. It’s a tool for everyday life; it’s democratic,” says Sachs. Its design can be compared to some of Nike’s most minimalistic models such as the Killshot and the Waffle One, but with touches of flair from the renowned artist that allow it to stand on its own. Its equipped with a three-piece molded cup sole, signature donning straps, microfiber collar and ultra-breathable knit and comes fitted with a simple off-white upper, blue accents atop the pull tabs and gum midsoles that come loaded with EVA foam cushioning.Interested in copping? The Tom Sachs x NikeCraft “General Purpose Shoe” will be dropping on June 10 via NikeCraft for $110 USD.For other sneaker news, HUF and Nike SB Dunk Low may have a collaboration in the works.

On-Foot Look at the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Starfish”
Retro offerings from Jordan Brand are going to be spewing out in high volumes throughout Summer and Fall seasons, and one silhouette that will be showing face plenty of times is the Air Jordan 1. One of its forthcoming offerings titled the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Starfish” is expected to drop in the coming months and we’ve got a closer look at the pair thanks to recently-surfaced on-foot photos. This makeup is styled with a three-toned motif that certainly reminds us of Jordan Brand’s famed “Shattered Backboard” series. Uppers are predominantly formed with a leather build and its titular shade is most pronounced as it lands on top of the Swooshes, laces, Nike Air branding on the tongues and the overlays. Smaller amounts of black are lent to the ball-and-wings logos and collars while a crisp white hue applies to the toe boxes and quarters. Tongues and midsole pieces are covered with an off-white exterior, and this give the kicks a touch of a vintage aesthetic.Be on the lookout for these to hit SNKRS and select retailers sometime this Fall and note that they’ll be priced at $170 USD.For other news, check out a closer look at the upcoming black and yellow Air Jordan 1 Mid.
