The world caught a glimpse at Dover Street Market’s Nike Dunk Low collaboration back in May 2021, showcasing the white pair before a closer look of the black pair came in July, and now Rei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe’s luxury multi-brand retailer has given us an official look at the soon-coming collaboration.DSM and Nike have a long-standing relationship, having served as the platform of years of COMME des GARÇONS x Nike collaborations from various CdG offshoots. Now, it gets its own Dunk Low, and in typical form, the pair is clean, simplistic, and fuss-free, but naturally luxurious at the same time.Both colorways are served up entirely in velvet, appearing in tonal makeovers that give the shoe a distinctive aesthetic. Typically, Dunks serve as the base for bright colors and wild designs — here, a mini Swoosh has been embroidered into the lateral front-quarter, while DSM and Nike branding adorn the left and right heels respectively, also embroidered in tonal hues.The Nike tongue tag is, again, tonal, as are the laces and the insole, which is where we find the signature DSM-house-shaped logo. Pharrell Williams, Billionaire Boys Club, and adidas Originals’ three-way collaboration on the HU NMD “Running Dog” is back again, giving those who didn’t get the sought-after pair the first time around another chance to cop.As expected, the Primeknit-based pair comes in a tonal “Olive Green” colorway and is adorned with BBC’s “Running Dog” motif that’s been embroidered onto the shoe’s vamp section in black. This leads the eye to the laces which are also in black, although they do appear with 3M specks threaded throughout, before they run down the shoe and lock into the eyestay section that connects to the sole unit.Here, you’ll find white and black sole unit plugs embedded into the full-length BOOST midsole alongside an off-white-hued outsole, cut out in places to showcase the BOOST cushioning. Nike Sportswear has released official images for the upcoming Nike Dunk Low “Fossil Rose,” which is part of a two-shoe pack that also includes a Nike Dunk High in an inverted colorway.The shoe’s color combinations are formally announced as “Phantom/Fossil Rose/Aura/Summit White,” a blend of soft faded tones across brushed suede uppers. Pale blue overlays sit atop the icy white base, and laces appear in a pinkish-brown hue reflected by the lateral swoosh, heel tab, tongue tag, and outsoles. White midsoles appear below, and outsole tips feature grooved star patterns for a subtle touch of detail.The Nike Dunk “Fossil Rose” Pack is slated to release in Spring 2022 at Nike’s website and select retailers priced at $120 USD for the Highs and $110 USD for the Lows.Elsewhere in footwear, Nike SB Blazer Mid Edge “Bandana” arrives in patchwork denim print.
