Jason Naylor and David Flores Join G.H. Bass Originals in Celebrating 85 Years of the Weejun Penny Loafer

As footwear culture has evolved over the decades, G.H. Bass Originals, the maker of the iconic Weejun Penny Loafer, has evolved with it. The brand’s signature footwear style turns 85 this year, having been a mainstay in fashion by transcending its more formal roots to become a recognizable silhouette in streetwear, both in its classic form and through collaborations with the likes of Maharishi and Fred Perry. Continuing to celebrate this milestone, the brand has tapped artists Jason Naylor and David Flores to conceptualize its Fall/Winter 2021 campaign.Highlighting the label’s place amongst pop culture and its contributions to the prep-centric corner of streetwear, the new campaign shows off a selection of G.H. Bass Original’s FW21 styles, accompanied by visuals from Naylor and Flores. The featured assortment ranges from classic pieces, like the OG Whitney Loafer, Shearling Slide and Shearling Super Lug, to new releases. Amongst the introductions is the Penny Charm and the Larson Super Lug Star, a new collaboration with photographer and director Joshua Kissi, exclusive to Nordstrom. Each of these silhouettes is enhanced by the work of Naylor and Flores, who used their distinct aesthetics and points of view to bring the spirit of the shoes and the footwear brand to life for this campaign.Holistically, the FW21 campaign from G.H. Bass Originals is an emblem of its spot within the modern day fashion space, proudly taking its place amongst brands like NOAH and Aimé Leon Dore who have helped to usher in a new era of prep. Official Look at the FORTY PERCENT AGAINST RIGHTS x Nike SB Blazer Low

In 2019, designer Tetsu Nishiyama used his creativity to bring elements from two classic Jumpman models in the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 6 and applied them to the SB Dunk High. Fast forward two years later, and the Japanese designer is readying a brand new footwear offering: the FORTY PERCENT AGAINST RIGHTS x Nike SB Blazer Low. The kicks first surfaced onto our radar earlier this Summer, but now its official photos have been released by Nike.Rather that use a traditional leather material to make up the base layer, Nishiyama employs a smooth buttery suede material across the upper in a “Medium Grey” hue. From there, the shoes show off a bit of a wild side as the forefoot overlays, Swooshes and heels have been fashioned with snakeskin textures, all of which are dialed to a “Cool Grey” tone. On the exterior, Nike SB and FPAR branding splits between the left and right shoes in the form of jeweled lace dubraes and embroidered text on the heels. Moreover, you’ll find the right shoe’s tongue graced with a Nike SB hit while the left side’s tongue has been flipped inside out.As of now, these are scheduled to drop overseas via SNKRS on December 20. A stateside release has not been confirmed yet.For other sneaker news, Nike has recently revealed an icy Air Max Plus colorway.

Official Images of the adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Beluga Reflective”

Since Kanye West and adidas first introduced the YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 to the public, both parties have gone on to push this silhouette harder than any other YEEZY model. And throughout its five-year lifespan so far, there are a handful of colorways that have proven to be more popular than others, one being the inaugural “Beluga” colorway. And this holiday season, Ye has decided to bring the essence of this iteration back but with a subtle alteration in the form of the adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Beluga Reflective.”HYPEBEAST had the privilege of seeing an early pair of the kicks and providing close-up shots, but now its official images have finally emerged. This impending installment keeps all of the original design cues and materials that were used on the pair from 2016, except these have reflective notes sewn into the upper’s PrimeKnit fabric. Gray and black knitting makes up a majority of the base while a bold orange post-dyed monofilament side stripe with gray “SPLY-350” branding is housed inside. Bottoms are produced with the traditional midsole ribbing and come stuffed with BOOST cushioning for a soft and responsive ride. These are expected to drop on December 18 for $220 USD likely via adidas and YEEZY SUPPLY.In other news, the adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Dazzling Blue” is expected to hit the shelves in 2022.
