Nike Introduces “Alter & Reveal” Pack With Wearaway and Tearable Details

Continuing the concept of tearaway sneakers, Nike has unveiled its “Alter & Reveal” Pack, dropping Air Max 90 and Air Force 1 Low with properties that are tearable or transform over time. The Air Max 90 is dressed in a seemingly neutral colorway in beige, grey and black with hints of blue on the outsoles. A closer look reveals a mix of materials that can be seen on the leather mudguards, suede accents on the forefoot, denim collar and leather overlays on the toebox and Swooshes. With continued wear, pigments hidden underneath the materials will unveil themselves to complete a bold and colorful design – the black toebox and Nike’s logo on the sidewall will also change to orange and royal blue respectively, while the beige mudguard transforms into bold yellow. The “Alter & Reveal” tongue tag with stitches around the eyestay panel round off the look. The pack also comes with an Air Force 1 Low in a Black/White/Red/Tan colorway that sees black suede on the mudguard with a tan eyestay panel, while red leather graces the heel. The highlight is the black and white net inserts which can be torn to reveal the white and red underlays on the sidewalls and toebox. “Alter & Reveal” branding on the insoles completes the playful silhouette.Pricing and release dates have yet to be announced for the Air Max 90 while the Air Force 1 Low is expected to drop October 10 for $100 USD.For more footwear news, take an official look at the adidas YEEZY SLIDE “Pure” and “Soot.”

Nike’s Air Max BW “Los Angeles” Is a Colorful Homage to the City of Angels

As Nike’s Air Max BW celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2021, it’s done everything from return in its original “Persian Violet” colorway to serve as inspiration for a whole pack of Nike Sportswear classics. Now, the 1991 classic affectionately known as the “Big Window” by its legions of fans is set to begin rolling out in a set of city-centric styles, one of which is this “Los Angeles” makeup.Inspired by the City of Angels’ street fashion scene in the ’90s — think big, bold tees and bright sportswear — the “Los Angeles” features an array of black and white mesh, leather and nubuck detailing on its upper. This calm two-tone assortment is quickly enhanced by potent pops of bright orange on the rubberized Swoosh, thick collar and puffy tongue. There’s plenty of special branding to be had here as well. The heel’s standard “Air Max” hit is replaced by a Los Angeles spellout, while the left shoe presents a purple “LA” logo on its tongue in place of the right shoe’s standard Nike graphic. More purple can be seen on the insole details, and purple lace deubres read “1991” and “2021” for a nod to the start of the BW’s fourth decade on the market. Down below, white and orange midsoles with purple Air Max units finalize the look. The Nike Air Max BW “Los Angeles” is set to release via Nike SNKRS on September 16. Its MSRP is set at $140 USD.For more news on upcoming Swoosh sneakers, check out the latest installment of HYPEBEAST’s weekly Best Footwear Drops series.

Nike’s Air Max 90 and Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage “Lucha Libre” Explore Key Pieces of Mexican Wrestling

Nike is celebrating the festive spirit and rich traditions of Mexican wrestling with the Nike Sportswear “Lucha Libre” pack. The pack was introduced by a luchador mask-shrouded Air Force 1, and now it’s gained two new members: namely an asymmetrically-colorblocked Air Max 90 and a luxurious Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage, each inspired by a different piece of luchador culture. The Air Max 90 shows the duality of Mexican wrestling by splitting its shoes between “Los Rudos” (bad guys) and “Los Tecnicos” (good guys). Each foot offers inverse black and white colorblocking atop a mesh, patent leather and satin build. “Los Rudos” and “Los Tecnicos” appear on the left and right shoes, respectively, while luchador head graphics on lateral heels work with colorful tongue tags to supply extra flair. Insoles veer between blue and yellow, and both read “Lucha Libre!” on the heel to complete the look.On the other hand, the Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage offers a less existential inspiration, namely the masks worn by luchadors. It features a striking green satin quarter panel, collar and toebox that’s rimmed with a wealth of sandy snakeskin accents on the toe cap, mudguard, eyestays and heel. There’s also dashes of gold on the midfoot Swooshes, heel branding and tongue tags, with black collar linings, midsoles and outsoles working with “Lucha Libre!”-branded insoles for a finishing dash of flair.Expect the Nike Air Max 90 and Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage “Lucha Libre” to release via Nike SNKRS Japan come September 16. The Air Max 90 is a men’s silhouette while the Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage is a women’s style that’ll be available in an extended size run.For more info on upcoming sneaker releases, be sure to check out the latest installment of HYPEBEAST’s weekly Best Footwear Drops list.
