With marathon season now officially upon us, New Balance has unveiled its latest Made in UK 991 designed in collaboration with London-based running club Run the Boroughs.Founded in 2019, Run the Boroughs is a collective that caters for all runners of all experience and abilities, which explores the lesser run boroughs of the capital — as well as the more trodden streets. Now, teaming up with New Balance, the pair introduce its own take on the MiUK 991, drawing inspiration from the dark concrete roads and rain clouds of London, and the marathon itself. Comprising a mix of suede, nubuck, textured leather and mesh, the MiUK 991 boasts the brand’s archetypal ABZORB cushioning system under foot, while 3M detailing enhances visibility throughout the darker months.The Run The Boroughs x New Balance x London Marathon MiUK 991 is set to drop towards the end of the month, although in the meantime you can enter a competition to win a pair via the Run the Borough’s Instagram account. To celebrate the highly anticipated arrival of two Gundam x Nike SB Dunk Highs set to release later this month, Nike SB has released a short promo video that highlights the similarities between the sneakers and their sci-fi robot uniform inspirations.The Nike SB Dunk High “Project Unicorn White” is modeled after protagonist Banagher Links’ RX-0 Unicorn Gundam and the “Banshee” colorway is modeled after its brother unit, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee. The 45-second video displays the collaborative Dunks floating in outer space before they’re grabbed by powered-up versions of their representative Gundam figures donning Nike SB decals.Take a look at the video above, and expect the two Gundam x Nike SB Dunk Highs to arrive at select skate shops in Japan, China, and Europe on September 24 and their respective region’s SNKRS app on September 27. Prior to 2021, Jordan Brand already had an impressive amount of collaborations with musicians under its belt from Travis Scott to Drake to J Balvin, and now the sportswear imprint is slated to welcome another iconic pop artist into its family — Billie Eilish. Together, the two have worked together on striking takes atop the Air Jordan 1 KO and the Air Jordan 15, both of which have already been revealed by way of official imagery.For the Nike SNKRS app’s “Behind the Design” series, Eilish revealed further details about her forthcoming kicks. In an effort to be more gentle with the Earth’s resources, she worked with Jordan Brand to make both offerings 100% vegan and made with over 20% recycled materials. “I’ve always love Jordan, and it was such a crazy surreal, exciting, overwhelming experience to create these”, Eilish says.
