Bottega Veneta Adds Three New Climber Colorways to Footwear Range

Moving away from the blocked, primary shades of the initial Bottega Veneta Climber sneaker drop, the new season footwear selection comes in versatile colorways of “String”, “Abyss Cobalt” and “Camping”.The Climber sneaker was first introduced as part of Bottega Veneta’s outlandish Spring/Summer 2021 “Salon 01” collection: an offering that solidified Daniel Lee’s playful design approach to the proportions of footwear. Juxtaposed against the chunky Puddle Boot inspired clog, the Climber sneaker stood as the streamlined, lightweight option in the footwear range. Functional details, such as the Vibram rubber grip outsole, removable knit sock and elasticated lacing system, elevate this shoe from a rubber sandal to a tech-lover’s sneaker. Earlier in 2021, TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. and Suicoke joined forces on a revamped Medical Military Slipper silhouette. And to ring in the Fall season, the two have reconvened for another footwear unorthodox Vibram Five Fingers Shoe collaboration.From top to bottom, feet-like kicks are covered in all black, allowing the various materials to take center stage. A majority of the uppers are devised with Upper made from polyester and breathable mesh, and come neighbored by cow and PU suede overlays that are situated at the heels, mid-foot, throat and toes. Tongues and insoles are decorated with branded hits, the former being dressed with a banner that bears each party’s name while the latter is stamped with a Vibram Five Fingers logo. Additionally, a reflective panel is placed onto the heightened parts of the heel to provide visibility at night. Down below, the soles are bolstered with Vibram MEGAGRIP rubber outsoles to supply wearers with ample traction and durability. Sneaker Freaker’s 720-Page ‘Soled Out: The Golden Age of Sneaker Advertising’ Celebrates Vintage Sneaker Print Ads

Sneaker Freaker has teamed with publishing company Phaidon to release Soled Out: The Golden Age of Sneaker Advertising, a 720-page homage to vintage print ads from some of the world’s most notable sneaker brands. Consisting of over 900 ads, the hardcover book is a veritable tome of sneaker history, one backed by nearly a decade of research and discovery.Thirteen brands are spotlighted in the book: adidas, ASICS, Brooks, Converse, Jordan Brand, L.A. Gear, New Balance, Nike, PONY, PRO-Keds, PUMA, Reebok and Saucony, while other brands like Vans and FILA appear briefly as well. Ads included range from Michael Jordan’s iconic early Air Jordan campaigns to classic Nike ACG posters, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson’s memorable Converse Weapon ads, Michael Jackson’s appearance in support of LA Gear and New Balance’s running advertorials that Aimé Leon Dore has shown a fondness for referencing in its own campaigns. Most of the book spotlights ads from the ’70s to 2000, save for a handful of original Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ads from the ’30s. Soled Out: The Golden Age of Sneaker Advertising will release on October 20, and is priced at $69.95 USD. A special edition with an alternate cover will arrive alongside the standard trade version.
