Here’s a Closer Look at the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 2002R “Water Be the Guide”

For this new installment of Closer Looks, we take a detailed look at the freshly released Salehe Bembury x New Balance 2002R.The Havasu Falls-inspired “Water Be the Guide” colorway features bright and vivid hues of green mixed with earth tones — reflecting bodies of water in nature and the surrounding natural elements like earth and moss. From the detailed images, we now get a better look at the coral and emerald greens that are split between the hairy and premium suede, and leather overlays. Salmon appears in the mesh underlays while orange is found on the midsole in a speckled pattern. Finishing off the shoe is neon green on the Stability Web TPU shank, the NERGY foam midsole, and on the outline of the “N” logo. There are also leather accents on the tongue and collar. While already sold out over at New Balance and other retailers like HBX, these images should hold you over until the next big release from Salehe Bembury. In other footwear news, the second Nike SB Dunk Low “ACG Terra” colorway boasts “Red Plum” and “Citron” accents.

Nike’s “First Use” Pack Broadens With an Orange Waffle Trainer 2 Colorway

The Nike Swoosh is easily one of the most iconic brand logos known to mankind, and 2021 marks its 50th anniversary. Graphic designer Carolyn Davidson introduced the insignia back in 1971, and to celebrate its five decades of existence, the Nike team has built out a wide array of “First Use” colorways. Along with a plethora of Dunk Highs comes this newly unveiled orange Waffle Trainer 2 makeup. Its upper build primarily mixes between two materials including a canvas and a shaggy suede. Both are treated with a vibrant orange tone, the former of which forms the build of the base while the latter is used for the overlays. Like its release siblings, the checks on the lateral side arrive with just the embroidered borders of the logo and sit above a “First Use June 18, 1971” spell out, while the latter is filled in entirely with white. The laces are doubled up here in sacai-esque fashion and mix between green and white, and come embellished with a gilded Swoosh piece in the middle. Out back, more green hits are applied to the Nike lettering. These already dropped in over in Japan, but a stateside launch via Nike and other retailers is likely going to occur in the coming months. For more footwear news, peep a look at the Nike Dunk Low “Sea Glass” colorway.
