James Whitner’s The Whitaker Group — the retail conglomerate that includes A Ma Maniére, Social Status and APB — has partnered with the Black Community Business Advisory (or BCBA) for a special six-part addition to its educational “Free Game” series. Past installments of “Free Game” have taught everything from business smarts to financial literacy, and the six BCBA courses will feature Black executives from companies like Nike and Bank of America sharing their business and life expertise, philosophies and more. “Obtaining & Managing Credit For Personal & Business Finance,” the first of the six sessions, will occur over Zoom at 7 PM EST on June 24. Its panel will be hosted by Whitner himself, and consist of tenured Black executives who are key members of the BCBA. Over the course of the session, the panelists will share advice on how to secure financing and how policy, practice and terms can be shaped around both personal and business financing. There’s an interactive element too: interested parties can submit questions for the panel via The Whitaker Group’s designated intake form.If you’re interested in registering for the panel, you can do so via the A Ma Maniére website. There’s no cost to attend, and further installments in the series will be announced soon.Elsewhere in the world of footwear, a salty seller has claimed that StockX lost his Air Yeezy 2 “Red October.”

Official Look at the Nike Air Force 1/1 “Nike and the Mighty Swooshers”
Customizable sneakers are nothing new from the Nike imprint, but the brand did kick it up a notch when it introduced the Air Force 1:1 — a lifestyle silhouette that allows wearers to literally pick and pull apart the shoe’s various velcro panels on the uppers. The model’s forthcoming act — the “Nike and the Mighty Swooshers” colorway — is perhaps one of its most adventurous yet as it delves into the world of sci-fi and essentially morphs the kicks into a walking comic book. This colorway was first previewed towards the end of May, but it’s just been unveiled by way of official imagery. To start off, the toe boxes are covered with alien-like figures and come backdropped with a shimmery silver. Adjacent to this are what appear to be female anime characters that drop off on the lateral and medial sides, and the quarter sections mix between leaf-esque prints and retro Nike insignias. Characters that are reminiscent of the Roswell Rayguns martian also come into play here and adorn the heel’s overlays. Additionally, you can personalize the shoes with various forms of Swooshes and patches that come packaged inside the box. It’s still unclear as to when Nike and other retailers will drop these, but you can likely expect a launch to go down in the coming months.Looking for more sneaker news?
