First Look at Salehe Bembury’s New Balance 2002R “Water Be The Guide” Colorway

2020 was a major year for Salehe Bembury as he racked up a multitude of compelling footwear partnerships and earned himself the FN Designer of the Year award. One of his projects that seemed to turn the heads of sneaker lovers from last year was his New Balance 2002R “Peace Be The Journey” collaboration, and now the two parties are set to continue this line with a second version that has finally been revealed via the designer’s IG: the New Balance 2002R “Water Be The Guide”.As suggested by its namesake, the design execution of this lifestyle offering is representative of the ocean. Aquatic teals reminiscent of tropical waters dress up the shaggy suede and leather overlays as well as the laces and interior lining. Mesh underlays are done up in a dusted coral hue, while rustic orange accents make their way to the tongue’s backgrounds and branded overlays atop the lower throat and lateral heels. Additionally, the “N” logos that are stationed on the mid-foot are color-blocked between forest green and neon green outlines. Midsoles are mostly white in complexion, but also come decorated with orange speckles throughout. Bringing everything together is the treading which also comes outfitted in a bright teal tone.Release information is still unknown, but expect these to drop via New Balance and select retailers in the coming months. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Salehe Bembury (@salehebembury)In case you missed it, New Balance just released a collection of Summer-ready sandals.

Vans Dresses Up the Era With Bandana Graphics and Skull Logos

For most of May 2021, Vans has centered its focus on its collaborative projects and dropped capsules with the likes of Foot Patrol, SpongeBob Squarepants and C2H4. Just before the fifth month of the year winds down to a close, the Anaheim skate brand is reverting back to its inline lineage and pushing out this playful Vans Bandana Era colorway.All-over patterns take center stage on these street-ready kicks. The entire upper half is ornamented with orange, yellow and pink tie dye patterns from front to back and complemented by black paisley patterns that run across the toe tips and just above the midsoles on the mid-foot. Accompanying these patterns are stark black skull silhouettes that also drop off throughout the entire base layer. Shoe laces and the rims of the insides are treated with a white complexion while the insoles opt to go with a simple black and white color-blocking. A strip of black borders just below the upper, and comes stacked atop an angelic midsole and the standard waffle treading to complete its design.Parties who fancy these wild kicks can scoop them up right now over at HBX for a budget-friendly $66 USD.In case you missed it, Vault by Vans recently celebrated the upcoming Pride month with a new footwear launch.
