Once a Rare PE, the Nike Lebron 8 “HWC” Will Now See a Retail Release

LeBron James and Nike’s signature line was red-hot in the early 2010s — an era widely regarded as the second “golden age” of Nike Basketball — and one of the most memorable styles was the LeBron 8 “HWC” (short for “Hardwood Classic”). Originally a PE created exclusively for the King, the “HWC” is now set for its first retail release. The LeBron 8 was LBJ’s first signature silhouette to debut after he’d left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat. Although many success-starved New York Knicks fans may have taken the blue and orange “HWC” colorway to mean LeBron had interest in the Big Apple, it was in fact a callout to the Cavs’ Hardwood Classic jerseys. Uppers are dressed almost entirely in blue, with paneling split between smooth blue suede and recessed synthetic material with a carbon fiber pattern. This entire assemblage is bolstered with Flywire, and a white Swoosh trimmed with orange creeps onto the heel.Heels feature an extended tab, which sits above an orange panel with LeBron’s signature and a Swoosh done up in blue. The medial side is almost entirely devoid of branding save for a small debossed Swoosh on the toebox. Throats are made of orange mesh, while tongues boast a debossed patent leather lion graphic on the outside and a “Designed and Engineered to the Exact Specifications of Mr. LeBron James” tag on the inside. Down below, white EVA foam midsoles work with a full-length orange Air Max unit speckled in blue for comfort. Translucent orange outsoles complete the look.At the time of writing, an official release date for the Nike LeBron 8 “HWC” has yet to be announced. However, early speculation has its release earmarked for a #LeBronWatch drop on April 23.For more Nike Hoops news, check out official images of the Air More Uptempo “Bulls.”

Supreme x Dr. Martens Spring/Summer 2021 Collaboration

Supreme had just unveiled a new collaboration with Dr. Martens for Spring/Summer 2021. This announcement arrives just a week-and-a-half after revealing an extensive Supreme x The North Face Spring 2021 capsule.Featured are three distinctive colorways of the 5-Eye Shoe: zebra, black and orange. As its name suggests, the silhouette comes with five pairs of eyelets. It bears a slightly sleeker mold than other Dr. Martens classics, like the 1461 or 3989, and it sports a treaded outsole for added traction. Nike’s Air Max 90 Takes On Michigan Wolverines-Esque Color Scheme

Michigan Wolverines fans might be downtrodden after their #1 seed men’s basketball team recently fell to the UCLA Bruins in the Elite Eight, but Nike is offering the Ann Arbor faithful a ray of sunshine with a new Wolverines-colored Air Max 90. Somewhat reminiscent of 2016’s Air Jordan 4 “Dunk From Above,” this new AM90 boasts a “White/Midnight Navy/Obsidian/University Gold” palette and is loaded with compelling details.Uppers are composed of a crisp white jersey mesh that’s bolstered by navy leather mudguards and midfoot pieces. Each of these pieces supplies unique contrast stitching: the mudguard is accented by maize stitching and the top overlay shows off obsidian details. More maize is present on the midfoot Swoosh and “window” detail, while eyestays are split between maize and navy.Rubberized heel badges combine maize, navy and white, while navy tongues are made of their own jersey mesh. More branding arrives via a white and navy Nike Sportswear tongue tag and a maize spellout on the navy insoles. Pure white midsoles with a navy Air cushioning unit and multicolored outsoles complete the look. This Air Max 90 is available on the Nike webstore now, and is priced at $120 USD.For more from the world of the Swoosh, get a look at the women’s Dunk Low “Green Glow.”
