Nike has filed a lawsuit against MSCHF for its collaborative Air Max 97 “Satan Shoes” with Lil Nas X.The footwear giant first clarified its non-involvement with the collab on March 28. “We do not have a relationship with Little Nas X or MSCHF. Nike did not design or release these shoes, and we do not endorse them,” a statement read. By March 29, Nike reportedly filed a lawsuit against MSCHF, claiming that the Brooklyn-based brand’s “unauthorized” shoes are “likely to cause confusion and dilution and create an erroneous association between MSCHF’s products and Nike.”“Decisions about what products to put the ‘swoosh’ on belong to Nike, not to third parties like MSCHF,” the lawsuit stated in reference to its logo. “Nike requests that the court immediately and permanently stop MSCHF from fulfilling all orders for its unauthorized Satan Shoes.”Daniel Greenberg, one of MSCHF’s founders, previously confirmed that Nike was not involved with the collaboration “in any capacity.”The controversial sneaker was released in celebration of Lil Nas X’s latest single “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” and interestingly features an Air unit that’s filled with 60cc of ink and one drop of real human blood from the MSCHF team. The shoes were only available in 666 pairs and priced at $1,018 USD each, and were sold out in less than a minute.Stay tuned for more developments.Elsewhere in footwear, this Nike Air Griffey Max 1 pays homage to Jackie Robinson.

The Vans Old Skool Tapered Model is Designed With a Reductive Approach
Given that the Vans Old Skool is such a clean-cut silhouette by nature, there’s plenty of room for it to be reimagined with different colorways or constructions. To ring in Spring with fresh energy, Vans has introduced the Old Skool Tapered — a model that’s been manufactured with a reductive mentality due to the removal of the padding that traditionally fits around the mouth.Essentially a reconstruction of the original Old Skool, this newest design features all-canvas base layers. There are two colorways involved in this launch, one being the “Marshmallow/Spectrum Blue” option while the other sports a “Mineral Grey/Spectrum Blue” theme. The former see its entire upper half coated in the sugary-inspired hue, while its bottom layer is primarily done up in a bright white. The foxing stripe which sits near the top of the midsole is coated with a “Spectrum Blue” exterior. Its releasing sibling, while featuring an identical lower half, deviates with its canvas uppers being completely drenched in “Mineral Grey”.If you’re thinking about adding these pairs toy your rotation, the Vans Old Skool Tapered “Retro Cali” Pack is available now through BILLY’s Tokyo for ¥8,250 (approx. $75 USD).In case you missed it, Bodega recently unveiled its 15 year anniversary collaboration with Vans Vault.
A$AP Nast Links With Reebok For Earth Toned Classic Leather Legacy Collaboration
A$AP Nast is no stranger to footwear collaborations as he and Converse have cooked up a few sneaker projects such as the Chuck 70 Hi that launched in 2017 as well as the flame-covered Jack Purcell Mid which launched in 2019. However, it appears that he’s switching gears for Spring 2021 and now joining up with the folks at Reebok to roll out a joint Classic Leather Legacy colorway. For this newest piece, the Harlem-born artist leans on an earth palette to stylize the modernized silhouette. A “Sand Taupe” hue is most pronounced on the base layer here as it outfits the suede overlays that are attached to the throat, mid-foot, heels and toe tips. More of these neutral accents arrive by way of the dark brown leather vector logos on the sides as well as the light beige corduroy materials which form the its base. Moreover, “Crisp Purple” accents peek out through the rear leather underlays and lace loops, and the tongues have go for the aged look due to its exposed foam materials. “A$AP Nast” branding is also debossed onto the mid-foot’s black banners as well as on the right side’s insole. If interested in purchasing, these will be launching come April 2, 2021 for $100 USD via Reebok and select retailers.Want more footwear news?
