Hi-Vis Highlights Hit the Nike Air Max Plus

First released in 1998 and designed by Sean McDowell, Nike’s Air Max Plus is one of the most seminal shoes in the entire Air Max line and boasts bold turn-of-the-century style with its wavy overlays, swooping lines and sizable Air units. Though the Plus was ahead of its time when it was released — and frankly still looks quite technical today — Nike Sportswear loves to modernize its classic silhouettes, so the Air Max Plus has appeared with a brand-new set of hi-vis reflective details.Officially dubbed “Black/University Red,” the most notable thing about this Air Max Plus is that its signature overlays, usually composed of TPE, are printed directly onto the upper and coated in hi-vis reflective material. This enables the top half’s base layer to have a one-piece mesh construction, and make sure its signature detail shines as brightly as possible.Apart from this daring dash of reflective regalia, this Air Max Plus also boasts small red-trimmed swooshes plus red rope laces with their own flecks of reflective material. Large red stripes that run down the tongue, reading “Tuned” on the right foot and “Air” on the left foot. Final pops of detail are supplied by branded badges on the tongue and heel, leather mudguards and heel overlays, jet black plastic toe caps and black midsoles with tonal Air units. This hi-vis Nike Air Max Plus is available at Nike Great Brittan now, and is priced at £155 GBP (approximately $212 USD). A US release may follow in the coming weeks. For more Nike news, check out detailed images of the UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Force 1 “5 on It.” Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
