CASTELBAJAC and Converse Dress the Converse Chuck 70 Hi With Vibrant Animal Patterns

After teaming up with Palace for a full apparel and accessories collection in 2020, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is looking to further advance his collaborative portfolio this Spring. This time around, he panders to the realm of footwear to give his spin on the iconic Converse Chuck 70 Hi.This newest sneaker team-up overtly marries the DNA of both brands. The sportswear imprint here simply provides the canvas and the Moroccan designer remixes it with his signature colors and affinity for adventurous patterns. Save for the traditional Sail-colored toe cap, the canvas-built upper is decorated with abstractly-shaped patterns, all of which alternate between hints of beige and CASTELBAJAC’s traditional colors of blue, yellow and red. Laid on top are leopard and zebra patterns, both providing further contrasting as they are given stark black finishes. Medial side One Star logos arrive with the customary white backdrop, red Converse font and navy star, and the tongues have been stamped with a CASTELBAJAC banner. If you take a peek inside the kicks, you’ll notice that the insoles continue its vivid theme with more red, blue and yellow color-blocking as well as a co-branded heel hit. These dropped via Converse Japan for ¥9,900 (approx. $91 USD), but have now sold out. A stateside release hasn’t been confirmed yet.For more footwear news, Converse CONS and Pop Trading Company recently partnered up for a Miffy-Inspired capsule.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
