May is National Pet Month, and to celebrate it, BOBS from Skechers is teaming up with nonprofit Best Friends Animal Society on furry-friend-themed footwear and animal adoption events. Skechers is also donating $500,000 to Best Friends to help save the lives of shelter pets.
“Best Friends Animal Society has a special place in BOBS history. When we launched our philanthropic movement to save shelter dogs and cats in 2015, it was with Best Friends,” says Skechers president Michael Greenberg, noting that BOBS has donated more than $14 million over the past decade, which has helped save and support more than two million animals worldwide. “We are excited to reunite with Best Friends and work together to save them all,” he adds.
Highlights of the partnership include:
• A series of cat and dog adoption events hosted by Skechers and Best Friends at Skechers stores in collaboration with local shelters around the country.
• A month-long register roundup at Skechers stores nationwide, inviting customers to support Best Friends and to help raise much-needed funds for dogs and cats in shelters
• BOBS from Skechers shoes featuring designs from the newest winners of the company’s Paws for a Cause Design Scholarship, which also awards $10,000 college scholarships and offers individual mentoring sessions for winners. This year’s recipients are Anelya Sapar from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and Elle Dalby from Pennsylvania State University. Their cat- and dog-themed patterns (below), inspired by rescue pets and their own four-legged family members, are available at select Skechers stores and on skechers.com.
