Dearfoams Campaign Makes the Grade

With Teacher Appreciation Week kicking off on May 4, Dearfoams is raising the bar on its third annual Kindness Wins initiative celebrating educators as everyday heroes with a $10,000 contest, a marketing extension with Little Words Project, and limited-edition themed slippers. This year’s campaign centers on recognizing teachers whose acts of kindness, both big and small, create lasting change in their communities. One educator, from a field of 24 finalists, will receive a $10,000 award based on consumer voting (April 20–May 4 on Dearfoams.com). The winner will be announced May 5.
“Celebrating teachers as everyday heroes is a natural fit for Dearfoams, honoring an often-undervalued audience while reinforcing our role in their moments of rest,” says Justine Suh, president of Dearfoams, a division of RG Barry Brands in Columbus, OH. “Teachers show up every day with care, compassion, and resilience, often in ways that go unseen, and Dearfoams shows up when they need those things most.”

Suh believes Kindness Wins is more than a campaign; it reflects what Dearfoams stands for, which includes celebrating everyday acts of kindness through the people who live them. “This program is about recognizing moments of kindness, amplifying their impact, and giving our community a meaningful way to participate in celebrating them,” she says.
Thus, this year’s partnership with Little Words Project, a bracelet company whose aim is to inspire and encourage people to be kind to themselves and to pay that kindness forward, one beaded word message at a time. With purchases of $60-plus on Dearfoams.com, consumers will receive a complimentary Kindness Wins bracelet. “Little Words Project is grounded in the same belief as Kindness Wins: Small acts can make a big impact,” Suh says. “This partnership allows us to scale that message, reaching beyond our audience to deliver comfort, recognition, and real moments of kindness to teachers everywhere.”
Last but not least, the limited-edition Kindness Wins Sydney slippers ($70), available exclusively on Dearfoams.com, let Kindness Wins believers walk the walk. The Fireside by Dearfoams slip-on scuff style features hand-drawn artwork by Nicole Bless.
Suh believes Kindness Wins campaign has room to spread far and wide in the years ahead. It’s a message with broad appeal that could enable Dearfoams to recognize and embrace all sorts of professions and acts of everyday kindness. “We’re exploring new ways to expand Kindness Wins, including bringing retail partners into the program to help grow our community of teachers and beyond,” she confirms.
