Baffin Ventures Into Recovery Footwear with New Clog

High-performance Canadian brand Baffin is venturing into the recovery footwear market with its new Recovery Clog. Blending cushioned support with lightweight but solid construction and water resistance, the slip-on design is built for outdoor functionality, meant to resonate with serious hikers as well as weekend adventurers.
“Recovery Clog builds on our strength in high-performance, technically driven footwear by extending it into recovery, an essential next step in the outdoor journey,” says Jessica Liut, vice president of marketing for Baffin. “We’ve always supported consumers in demanding conditions, and performance doesn’t end when the adventure does.”
The clog also advances the brand’s expansion into year-round performance footwear, following the Spring 2025 launch of its Terrain Collection and its entry into the multi-season hiking category, Liut adds. “It is not a departure but a continuation of our core purpose.”
She describes the target customer for the clog as “an outdoor lifestyle consumer, someone who hikes, camps, or spends time in nature and values performance even at rest.” Each pair comes with a Baffin-branded carabiner to hold the clogs together or clip them to gear like a backpack or belt loop.
The clog is Baffin’s first product crafted with B-Tek LiteStep, the brand’s new proprietary compound. A flexible upper provides soft, cushioned comfort, while an outsole engineered for supportive rebound provides underfoot relief and protects against debris. A multi-directional slip-resistant tread ensures traction on varied surfaces, while a non-marking sole makes the clog suitable for those who want to do their recovering indoors. Before rolling out Recovery Clog, Baffin’s team did extensive real world wear testing in various conditions and temperatures as low as 50 degrees.
The company hopes the new product will stand out in a crowded recovery clog market “by bringing an outdoor, performance-first approach, with features designed for real-world conditions like a debris-protective upper, multi-surface traction, and water-resistant materials,” says Liut. “Combined with technical cushioning and practical details like a clip-on carabiner, it’s positioned not just as a recovery shoe, but as an extension of outdoor gear.”
Recovery Clog is available in men’s sizes 7–14 and women’s sizes 6–11 in black, navy blue, desert tan, and sage green for $72.
