Georgia Boot is dialing up the precision fit by partnering with the BOA Fit System to integrate BOA technology into the brand’s work boots, including the Carbon Flex Wedge. The Wedge is built for maximum stability on flat surfaces and features a full grain leather upper with the Georgia Boot Waterproof system and an AMP insole for additional comfort.
Though BOA lacing technology isn’t new to the footwear market, “it’s really a trend with work boots,” says Jordan Gottke, vice president and general manager. “One of our largest customers mentioned that they’ve seen strong sales with this technology over the last few months.”
The Carbon Flex Wedge in particular is piquing interest because there aren’t many items like it in the market, says Gottke.
Georgia Boot has also built BOA technology into its Durablend series and LTX Logger series. “We placed two BOAs on the Logger,” Gottke explains, and “we believe it will be the best-fitting Logger on the market.”
Cool Idea: “America’s hardest working boot” is also expanding its use of InsulKul technology in the Carbotec FLX series. “Since we launched it, we’ve heard repeatedly that the cooling tech inside the boot is noticeable,” Gottke reports. “We’ve placed the material in the vamp and upper of the boot. In addition to the cooling, having mesh in the upper greatly reduces the weight of the boot.”
Lightening Up: The Ohio-based brand is also giving longtime bestsellers like its classic Wedge silhouette a fresh spin with the introduction of its new SuperLyte collection, three new styles featuring AMP X-Lite Technology for ultra-lightweight performance. The boots are up to 35 percent lighter than their predecessors. Made from the company’s patented SPR leather, they’re also soft and buttery to the touch, and the designs lean more casual than other Wedge items from Georgia Boot, Gottke explains.
Business as Usual: “We took a very modest price increase for Georgia Boot, as a number of our items are made in the Dominican Republic, and we’ve started moving product from China elsewhere,” Gottke reports. “Fortunately we were in a pretty good inventory position before the tariffs came into place, as we’ve been making our transitions. We expect the show to be mostly business as usual.”
