Converse Addict Unveils Seasonal Holiday Colorways

Converse Addict – a more high-end offshoot of Converse – is giving the Jack Purcell model another fourth-quarter makeover. For the 2023 holiday season, the footwear brand is breathing new life into the Jack Purcell Canvas in a striking new scheme of colors, and, for the first time ever, Converse Addict is reworking the Jack Purcell Canvas Mid model as well. The Jack Purcell Canvas Mid dates back to the 1990s, and this is the sneaker’s first time getting the Converse Addict treatment. Still flexing its signature padded collar, supreme cushioning properties on the heel and EVA cup insole, the classic model is also still equipped with its trademark design details as well – vintage detailing and stitching, signature insole design, uneven heel label and original texture. The Jack Purcell Canvas is now available in light blue and camel colorways and offers the same durable, versatile craftsmanship as the Mid model. This Nike Calm Slide Is Seeing Red

Slip-on styles have served a prevailing trend throughout the decade thus far. As a result, there’s been a mix of new laceless footwear options and a resurgence from existing designs. For Nike, it has leveraged popular silhouettes such as the Air More Uptempo and converted them into slip-ons. On top of this, it presented the Calm Slide earlier this year and has established it as a leading option from the brand, expanding on it with the Calm Flip-Flop and Calm Mule. The Calm Slide has since resurfaced courtesy of looks in an electric “Volt” and now this all-red pair. In typical Calm Slide fashion, the shoe sports a monochromatic finish that includes subtle branding notes that see the Swoosh debossed at the upper and present at the footbed. At the time of writing, Nike has not disclosed any release details regarding this all-red version of the Calm Slide. Stay tuned for updates as we expect this pair to touch down on retail shelves via Nike and select stockists later this year at a price of $50 USD.Looking for more from the world of footwear? A New Air Jordan 3 “Doernbecher” Is Dropping In November

As Nike, Jordan Brand and the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital gear up for their annual slate of charity-focused releases, a big piece of this year’s lineup has leaked: a new iteration of the Air Jordan 3. First announced by reputable early info purveyor brandon1an, the 2023 Air Jordan 3 “Doernbecher” will arrive in a multi-color scheme, with a high-numbered color code that indicates it’ll be vibrant in nature. An official look at the sneaker has yet to surface, but it should be revealed on or around October 27 — the date of the 2023 Doernbecher benefit gallery at the Portland Art Museum — and it’s likely to release in early September. The shoe’s designer is not currently known either, but it’s one of the six children pictured in the announcement graphic.Michael Jordan’s third signature model already has a rich place in Doernbecher history, as then-11-year-old Cole Johansen, a cancer patient at the hospital, put his twist on it in 2010. His red-and-black creation featured custom insole graphics that read “COURAGE” and “STR3NGTH,” plus a diamond pattern that, when observed closely, spelled out his initials, and also nodded to spaghetti and chocolate, his two favorite foods. It was so popular that it released again in 2013, and now goes for close to four figures on aftermarket stockists. That means this DB3 will have a high bar to clear, but if there’s one thing that’s certain about the Doernbecher collection it’s that it’s always full of surprises.
