New Balance ABZORB 2000 Arrives in “Silver Metallic”

Name: New Balance ABZORB 2000 “Silver Metallic”Colorway: Silver MetallicSKU: U20005UWMSRP: $170 USDRelease Date: January 14, 2026Where to Buy: New BalanceAs the obsession with turn-of-the-millennium aesthetics continues to dominate the sneaker landscape, New Balance is dipping into its archives to revive a technical masterpiece: the ABZORB 2000. Affectionately dubbed the “Liquid Metal” edition, this upcoming Spring 2026 release celebrates the futuristic optimism and high-shine finishes that defined footwear at the dawn of the 21st century. The silhouette is an unapologetic tribute to the Y2K era, featuring a breathable mesh base overlaid with flowing, synthetic “Silver Metallic” panels. These overlays wrap around the shoe like molten chrome, creating a sense of constant motion even when stationary. Unlike the more understated, pigskin suede models New Balance is known for, the ABZORB 2000 leans into a high-tech, industrial look. Reflective 3M detailing and a glossy finish on the midfoot “N” logo further emphasize the “Liquid Metal” theme, ensuring these stand out under any light.Performance remains a priority, as the shoe sits on a chunky, period-accurate midsole packed with full-length ABZORB cushioning. This technology, which was a revolution in impact absorption when it first debuted, provides a firm yet comfortable ride that handles all-day wear with ease. With its aggressive tooling and shimmering upper, the ABZORB 2000 is perfectly positioned for the current “Tech-Runner” trend, bridging the gap between retro performance and modern street style.
